Member of honor: Jabbar Yassin HUSSIN, Writer

Fourth of cover

"To Banks of the Madness" reports enfermement man in a room where the text becomes the measurement of the time which passes. Twenty-four segments rythment the text in twenty-four one day hours or an existence. The poet sees emerging his incredible past that old dead grandmothers whisper to him inlassablement. The monologue is hammered with blows of questions, howled without slackening, pitilessly vomitted: suffoquements, halètements, moanings and distress. From its diabolic heat to want to destroy the world, Jabbar Yassin Hussin draws from reality, gasoline even of its suffering, the monsters which populate the room "With Banks of the Madness", text malefic and visionary, resounds of the howls of a mislaid Iraqi, only, torn off with a which cursed ground, forever burned.

Strange history that that of this bought manuscript thousand years ago in a street of Baghdad, transmitted hand in hand and modified by its readers... The twenty-nine stories which it reports now lost very taken with time. They tell the childhood and the final exile of Bagdadien of today These twenty-nine tables, dark or luminous, funny or tragic, reveal the dramas and the laughter of the child, the destinies of a family, a village or a district... Are the feverish glances of childhood, the places and the odors nourished of emotion, there as many ramparts against the Contes lapse of memory or accounts? Dreams, nightmares or reality? All the art of JABBAR YASSIN HUSSIN resides in this invitation at the multiple voyages... towards the country of childhood, towards the country of the memory where the fever haunts dispossessed of the collective or individual past. Presentation of the editor

Written with sharp at the time when the war prepared, here ten texts, conferences, articles, published in the Arab press, speeches made at the Parliaments of Paris and Strasbourg. Jabbar Yassin Hussin shows us, in addition to the condition of exiled, the improbable return of those whose History cut the wings. Let us listen to Edgar Morin: Exiled Jabbar became a foreigner, even in this fatherland refuge, France, where it incarnates the strange and mythical East. Even in the Arab countries, it is not any more with the first access recognized like Arabic. The thirty year old Iraq of dictatorship had become to him foreign, but with the profit of deep Iraq where its heart took root. It is this mésopotamienne deep root of the human History which for the heart of Jabbar irrigates, identifies and justifies Iraq of today. In the distress of Jabbar, in the tumult of these hours, the nature even of the exile tears, is revealed. But the author of the "Reader of Baghdad" also testifies for his, against the obliteration of the History, for the réappropriée word, all things considered humanity, having the speaking pipe of a culture destroyed by the dictatorship, the bombardments and plunderings
